Main Types of Fragrances

Cologne contains a lesser oil concentration of 2 to 4 percent. As mentioned before, the term “cologne” is commonly reserved for products that offer masculine scents. During the first hour of wearing a cologne, the middle scent notes of the fragrance are prominent. During the second hour, the base notes become more identifiable. This second hour is called the dry-down period, and it’s when the true scent of the fragrance becomes clear, as the ingredients and the scent mix with your body chemistry. As colognes have a lower concentration, you may need to reapply throughout the day as needed.
How to Properly Apply Fragrances
To properly apply fragrances, follow these simple steps.
First, you’ll want to apply your fragrance directly to your skin. Doing so will allow the fragrance to “attach” to your skin and work with your body’s chemistry to achieve the desired scent effects. Applying the fragrance to areas of your body that are warm is also key, so lightly spray your fragrance on spots like the sides of the neck or the insides of your elbows.
