Watch Guide

How to wind a Bulova CURV watch?

This CURV watch by Bulova features a quartz movement. Quartz movements are extremely accurate and do not require winding. A battery sends an electrical current through a small quartz crystal, electrifying the crystal to create vibrations. These vibrations keep the movement oscillating and drive the motor to move the watch hands and power complications such as the chronograph. Only watches with a mechanical movement require winding. The wearer must turn the crown multiple times to wind the mainspring and store potential energy. The mainspring will unwind slowly and release energy through a series of gears and springs that regulate the release of energy. This energy is then transferred to turn the watch hands and power the watch’s complications.

What Bulova watch model do I have?

Please consult the user manual that was packaged with your Bulova watch. If you don't have your user manual, you can find the style number listed on the back of your watch case.

How to adjust a Bulova stainless steel bracelet watch band?

Our Kohl’s retail stores are happy to size your new Bulova watch purchase for you. However, you may be charged for sizing items that are purchased from other retailers.

How do you open a Bulova CURV watch back?

Set the watch face down on a soft, flat surface. Use a watchmaker’s screwdriver or case-back wrench to turn the screw slots counterclockwise to loosen. Repeat until all screws have been removed and the back can be easily lifted off.

How do you open a Bulova watch clasp?

This bracelet watch by Bulova employs a hidden push-button deployment clasp, also known as a butterfly clasp. It is relatively invisible when closed, creating the illusion of a seamless strap. These clasps have buttons on either side that must be pinched to release.
